JOB SUMMARY
The Redwoods Rising Field Operations Supervisor will lead a team in planning and implementing road decommissioning and watershed restoration activities for the Redwoods Rising partnership. The Field Operations Supervisor will oversee a team of 4-5 technicians. The Supervisor will coordinate, schedule and develop project plans for the team in close coordination with the Field Operations Manager, project partners, and contractors. The Field Operations Supervisor will act as a working supervisor, with duties that include overseeing contractors performing restoration activities by interpreting plans and specifications, inspecting materials and workmanship, and ensuring adherence to safety guidelines. The Field Operations Supervisor will work closely with the Field Operations Manager, as well as in close coordination with National Park Service, California Department of Parks and Recreation, and Save the Redwoods League staff members.
This is a full-time, grant funded position, with funding secured for a 2-year term (with possibility of extension). The work will be seasonally variable and will be roughly split between office and field time. Field work will require hiking over rough terrain and driving off-road vehicles. Project sites are distributed throughout Redwood National and State Parks.
