  • Pay Rate: $37 - $41/hr
  • Shift/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM + on-call rotation
  • Travel Required: Yes - travel throughout Humboldt County using company-issued vehicle
Job Summary
We are seeking a Mobile Engineer to support facilities across healthcare sites throughout Humboldt County. This hands-on, field-based role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills and is comfortable working independently in a mobile, client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive to and perform general maintenance and HVAC work at various client sites.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building mechanical, plumbing, and control systems.
  • Estimate labor/materials for repair work and maintain inventory of tools.
  • Support fire alarm, plumbing, and safety system inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Operate company vehicle to travel between locations.
  • Lead and mentor other team members as needed.
  • Document service activities and support regulatory inspections.
Required Experience
  • 4-5 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering roles.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Universal CFC/EPA certification (preferred but not required).
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Prior experience in healthcare facilities.
  • Cross-disciplinary maintenance skills: painting, plumbing, or electrical.
  • Experience with building automation systems or CMMS platforms.
Required Skills
  • Solid knowledge of HVAC systems and general facilities maintenance.
  • Strong customer service skills with patience and professionalism.
  • Ability to lift/carry loads 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work on-site independently.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in compliance-driven environments.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
Additional Skills
  • Good judgment in resolving field service issues.
  • Collaborative and self-directed.
  • Ability to explain technical matters to non-technical clients.
