Overview
Join Qualcomm's Data Center Business Unit as a Director or Senior Director of Product Management, where you will lead the strategy and execution of custom AI ASIC products tailored for next-generation data centers. You'll drive the entire ASIC lifecycle—from initial concept through tape-out, bring-up, and mass production—collaborating closely with hyperscale cloud providers, cross-functional engineering teams, and manufacturing partners.
Responsibilities
- Define product vision, use cases, and success metrics for custom AI ASICs targeting training and inference at scale.
- Lead the end-to-end ASIC development process: requirements gathering and specification with hyperscale customer partners; architecture trade-off analysis and microarchitecture definition; collaboration on RTL design, verification plans, physical design, and timing closure; silicon bring-up, validation, characterization, and yield optimization.
- Partner with silicon architects, firmware, hardware systems, and software teams to ensure seamless integration into server platforms, rack-scale systems, and data center orchestration stacks.
- Engage directly with hyperscale cloud providers to co-define performance, power, cost, and schedule targets; drive joint proofs of concept and early field trials.
- Work with supply chain and operations to manage risk, secure capacity, and optimize cost of goods sold (COGS) for ASIC production.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop compelling value propositions, competitive analyses, and go-to-market plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
- 8+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Architecture, VLSI Design, or related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with tape-out cycles, debug labs, and silicon validation methodologies.
- Familiarity with advanced packaging techniques (EMIB, FCBGA), test and measurement equipment, and yield enhancement strategies.
- Contributions to industry consortiums or open-source hardware projects.
- 12+ years of product management experience in custom ASIC or SoC development, including full lifecycle ownership from concept through production.
- Proven track record working on custom ASIC projects for hyperscale cloud providers or large enterprise data centers.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor design flows: specification, RTL, verification, synthesis, physical implementation, and silicon bring-up.
- Strong system-level perspective on AI accelerator integration within servers and rack-scale systems, including power, cooling, and interconnect considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with C-level and technical stakeholders at hyperscale customers.
- Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and project management skills.
- Superior communication skills, able to translate complex technical details into clear business impact.
