The Director, Merch Operations – US & Canada will lead the operational backbone of the Merchandising function, ensuring seamless execution of Go-to-Market (GTM) calendars, processes, and reporting while driving continuous improvement. Reporting to the VP, Merchandising – US & Canada, this role acts as the strategic enabler for Merchandising, Sales, and cross-functional partners, ensuring alignment to brand intent, regional priorities, and global standards. The Director will oversee major operational programs, manage high-complexity initiatives, and serve as the key connector between US/Canada cluster and Global Merchandising.

About the Job

  • Lead all Merch Operations focus areas (Calendar, Processes, Reporting & Analytics), ensuring integration into US/Canada Merchandising and commercial priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted operational advisor to VP Merchandising and leadership teams.
  • Represent US/Canada in global operations forums, influencing GTM calendars, tools, and processes.
  • Own and drive high-complexity projects and strategic initiatives requiring cross-functional alignment

GTM Calendar & Process Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end GTM calendar, milestone management, and cross-functional coordination from Brief through In-Season execution.
  • Partner with Sales, Planning, Marketing, and PD/Design to streamline ways of working and reduce duplication.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Enablement

  • Act as the logistics coordinator between functions (Merch, Sales, PD, Design, Marketing), helping each team focus on their core expertise.
  • Facilitate structured hindsighting and feedback loops to ensure product misses and asks from accounts inform future product creation.
  • Drive alignment with Commercial leaders (US & Canada) prior to seasonal briefs, ensuring Merchandising strategy reflects market needs.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Lead the development and delivery of reporting for US/Canada, including MBR, QBR, and weekly dashboards.
  • Partner with Analytics teams to evolve product performance reporting, ensuring data is relevant and consumer-focused.
  • Provide insights that inform strategic decisions, including liquidation strategies, assortment performance, and in-season pivots.

Process Improvement & Special Projects

  • Continuously evaluate and refine GTM processes to simplify operations, improve efficiency, and enable scalability.
  • Lead special projects as assigned, including organizational change, major system implementations, or new operating model design.

People Leadership

  • Directly manage a team of Managers/Sr. Managers across Calendar, Process, and Analytics.
  • Build and develop talent, promoting growth, collaboration, and accountability.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field
  • 10–12+ years of experience in Merchandising, Merch Operations, Planning, or related functions in retail/apparel
  • Strong background in GTM calendars, PLM/assortment systems, and sales launch cycles
  • Experience with reporting platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Assortify, etc.)
  • Track record of building, leading, and inspiring teams
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Strong influence with senior leadership
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Global mindset and cultural fluency

This is a hybrid position based in our San Francisco, CA headquarters. You will be expected in office 3 days per week typically Tuesday-Thursday. Note, time in office can vary depending on business needs.

The expected starting salary range for this role is $164,500 - $219,300 per year.We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, performance and business needs.
